Almost didn’t work on my composite sink because it was too thick, had to buy a different fitting for the bottom. Also the strainer won’t stay up when draining the sink.

Purchased KEENEY Deep Cup Design Sink Strainer, Model #K5415L from . States on the packaging “Deep cup for thicker sinks”. Buyer beware, this product does not work on a soapstone sink. This is very unfortunate as it is of good quality, design and appearance, just not as advertised.

The product is good quality but there is a design problem. The bowl is too long. With a long bowl the pruduct will only fit in sinks that have a thin wall. This will not fit on composit sinks. This is a darn shame. The design is supposed to allow universal fit. Some cost cutter probably shortened the brass threaded section as a cost savings, but didn’t shorten the compression bowl. I had to buy the lower quality Plumber spec product.

I had to replace my old leaking strainer which was a nightmare to remove as the lock nut was stuck and I had to resort to sawing it off. I vowed never to buy a strainer like that again where the lock nut was right next to the washer at the top of the strainer. I went with this Keeney strainer due to the design and quality. The install was easy with the right tools, I recommend buying a strainer wrench that grips onto the cross in the drain hole to prevent the drain from spinning as you tighten the lock nut. If I ever have to remove it, I expect it to be as equally as easy given how it’s designed.

Excellent quality and very easy to install. All appears to be stainless steel so you shouldn’t have to worry about paint or plating coming off.

Great product! Solid brass threaded fitment that a 1.5 inch threaded copper female pipe coupler will actually screw onto! Very heavy seal and construction.

Picked up from store for installing in brand new sink. Installed by plumber. So far so good, sturdy product.

High quality material, seals and brass out-pipe. Retainer cup is easy to install and assures even seal pressure. Simple strainer operation (vs spring ball or twist key design). Plumber’s putty required, drain wrench recommended (or suitable pair of pliers) to hold assembly when you tighten the retainer cup. This one will be around for a while!

Strange it is advertised as deep cup for thicker sinks and it doesn’t work on thicker sinks!? It looks like somebody in manufacturing put a regular basket in with the deep cup! Now I spent 35 dollars and it’s my problem to try and return it. Thanks !

The product $$ were in the middle of the available similar items, the directions and fit were correct and easy to follow. I recommend this product.
