   The lid lifter does a good job for my medium size iron skillet lid. But it is expensive, and might be considered a little overkill for some people. A simpler lid lifer might be easier to store also. It does sit nicely on the skillet while you are cooking so that you don’t have to find a place to set it aside while cooking. And it doesn’t seem to heat up noticeably. It is a nice lid lifter. I bought it to give to a friend and did not want to spend that much money; but I am the one who uses it…

   Letter is over complicated and also (just like the tripod) did not come with instructions. I contacted the seller and they didn’t know either – which is ridiculous. I found a assistance YouTube.

   Keeps the lid very steady and secure. Reduces chances of coal ash in the food when checking on it.

   Easy to use and sturdy. I would recommend this lifter.
