We have had success with other kohler products. Unfortunately this one is a disappointment. Not only did the paint chip during installation but the metal is not at all sturdy at the drain point. We have other kohler drains that are much more substantial. This is just silver metal painted black. I’m going to have it taken out and return the product. Too expensive of a piece to have this happen so soon.

Paid over twice any other brand . Engineer should be fired that came up with such a lame design. I bought this because Kohler was supposed to be high quality turns out they are only high priced. The basket will not seal so sink so it will not hold water.

Bought in May 2024, finish is already peeling off in sheets. It is like it didn’t get cured on finish. Vey disappointed. New remodel

We built a new home so we didn’t want to go cheap on our basket strainers. We bought these thinking they would be good ones. Within a month the finish chipped off of one. Worse than that, they don’t hold water!! Buy another brand and save both money and headache!

Bought this because it was the “best” black drain that was in stock. If I had ordered online it would have taken 9 days to get and I’d still have no sink drain as this was a week ago. Sink and new drain was installed a week ago today and I just noticed the finish is already chipping. While it is nice looking and heavy duty, for the price the finish should not be chipping this soon after installing. Not happy. I would have installed the drain that came with my ruvati sink but it was cheap plastic. Maybe that’s the key to no chipping use plastic. I’m going to order a better quality drain because I can’t look at my chipped drain knowing it only took a week of very little use (I use the dishwasher and use a dishpan to put the dishes in rather than the sink itself while waiting to load in the dishwasher)

I would not recommend this product. I remodeled my kitchen, purchasing a black matte faucet and purchased the soap dispenser and strainer to match. After a month of use the paint chips. I wish I did not purchase the black strainer.

I purchased this to match a faucet and paid a plumber to install before Thanksgiving. within 3 weeks it started to peel. I did not want to try to get the plumber back out and pay again before the holidays. I waited and the 90 days had passed so would not take it back because I used my Citi Card and not my Costco card even though I had been to there customer service counter twice advising them what happened. The store manager would not even come up to the counter. Kohler would not refund , they just sent me the same drain, when i asked if it had corrected of defects they said NO its the same part. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this product, kohler and .

This is the only quality strainer basket drain I could find available at my local home centers. I purchased another brand that I thought would be acceptable but it turned out the machining on the threads on the body were so sloppy I couldn’t even tighten them enough to seal on my stainless sink. The fact that even this product was not made in America is messed up, but it is very effective and should last for many years.

we haven’t even had it 2 months and the black has already peeled completely off both drains. Horrible product by Kohler. we bought it because it was the more expensive and thought better quality, so wrong!
