This is a beautiful soap dispenser, however we are on our 2nd one in 2 years and that just broke as well. Trying to contact Delta is not working. Please consider purchasing a different brand/model.

So I have the RP50781SS soap dispenser for my kitchen sink. Worked well for about a year and a half, then kablowey. The pump head collapsed. Unfortunately the only serviceable parts are the pump mechanism and the lock nut to hold the dispenser bottle to the sink. I am currently in search of a dealer who has the assembly available.

I have two of these delta pumps in my house and at first they worked fine. After the first one had began barely pumping, I switched them out and it started pumping like it should. As did the first one when it was new. After a few months of use, it done the same thing as the other one. It matches my faucet and would hate to put something different in and faucet too. A lot of money to spend just to pump soap.

Looks great. Good quality.

Nice finish on Soap Dispenser. Easy to mount in counter top.

this is the 2nd one in 2 years and it is broken again. a little tiny piece of plastic, same thing breaking both times. my first review didn’t seem to make the cut, so I’m writing a second one.

This soap dispenser is not the same quality as it’s faucet counterpart. It is mostly if not all flimsy material that feels like plastic. The tubing underneath has snapped. This is second one I’ve purchased so it would match my faucet. Very disappointing from a good quality company.

This soap dispenser looks great, but….. it’s very hard to pump the soap out. It takes many consecutive pumps before we get enough out to wash our dishes. It’s such a slow process. It was installed in May 2023. It’s Feb 2024.

When I purchased the dispenser I loved the sleek design- our faucet had a built in sprayer, so the empty hole in the sink wasn’t attractive. Many of the soap dispensers looked very cheap and were in the same price range as this one. I never filled it with soap because I just like the be able to pour the soap around the sink for cleaning- when I finally did and after I few uses it became really loose at the base. When I looked under the sink the bottle was just kindly hanging on for dear life. The part where the neck of the bottle meets the bottle was completely broken. Not sure if it was a faulty one, didn’t see anyone else complain about…. I went to the store I purchased it at, and they no longer carry it 🙁 they only have the cheap ugly ones- go figure (murphy’s law). I need it they no longer have it- of course. I thought maybe attach another bottle to it? But. that was a no go either, The broken piece is on there really well and not coming loose. Too bad the entire bottle did not stay on there as well. 🙁

We purchased the Faucet and it came with the soap dispenser. The drop down nozzle faucet works great and looks lovely on the sink but the dispenser has stopped pumping soap after only a year ish. Disappointing for sure. Hoping to get some resolution from Delta. Maybe they have corrected the issue with the newer models but that doesn’t help me.

After just a few years, you can expect this to break. Mine did, and the consensus among reviews is that this is normal. The plastic parts break, the spring wears down, the pump jams, etc. — I’ve had all three of these things happen. Some problems can be fixed, some cannot, but this is not a $5 item, it’s a $40-50 item. It should not be built to break.
But it doesn’t look cheap. I guess that’s the one nice thing about it. It’s very appealing the day you buy it. From there, it’s downhill.

I bought one 18 months ago, and the internal mechanism had to be replaced 3 times with very light-normal use.

Bought this pump to replace an old one that broke. This one pumps water just fine, but it doesn’t pump soap well at all. Maybe it works for your lighter lotions and very liquidy soaps, but it WILL NOT pump any of the hand soaps I tried in it. What’s more, screwing the soap container into the countertop fitting, when you’re lying under the sink looking up at it, is a monumental chore.

Well it’s a soap dispenser–and it does its job just fine

We bought our house five years ago. This pump was present when we bought. A month or two ago, the pump partially broke and leaned. Finally, it broke completely. I found this page on .com and it exactly matches my broken pump. I’m having a hard time deciding if I should buy a new one and hope for five years use. Or, do I buy a better designed pump which I know will last at least five years without me having to replace it again. This pump is not well rated because of the propensity for the plastic pump to break.

Since becoming a home owner over 35 years ago I have used Delta facets in my baths and kitchens. The reason great quality and extremely long life. Not so true with the purchase of my last Delta kitchen set. The faucet is again what i expect from Delta but the soap dispenser is cheap plastic and I mean cheap. Came in with a piece scratched and fortunately a local supplier had a free replacement part for me from an open box. less than a year later it has failed again and the spout connection has broken in to several pieces again due to cheap plastic. Summary Delta you make great faucets please put the same Delta quality into the accessories. Would not recommend any of the soap dispensers if they are the cheap plastic stick with the metal types.

We also purchased the Delta Deluca Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet (Model #:19912-SSSD-DST) that came bundled with the RP50781 – Dispenser Assembly.
The faucet has been flawless, but the dispenser broke after a couple of years. It appears the the top snapped clean off the plastic base (leaving the screws still in place), my wife is very careful and not sure how this broke. On inspection, this is a very cheap plastic part that should be better made if it is to be sold with Delta faucets, which are typically of high quality and great design.
How can I get a replacement top spout? It seems a shame and unnecesary expense to have to replace the whole dispencer.
Many thanks

We purchased this dispenser with our faucet a couple of years ago. Up until this point it has worked fine. However, now it is sticking and hard to press down to dispense soap. Our entire house is filled with Delta products, which we love, but hate that this dispenser is not working properly.

I don’t know if is just me but I brought this kitchen soap dispenser 4 years ago and it’s broken I thought for the price it should last longer

I really like the faucet and have had no problem with it but the soap dispenser is the problem. We have owned the unit several years and the soap pump started to take longer and longer to pop back up and now it has stopped working altogether. I have been looking for the plunger part but it is not available…do I have to buy a new soap dispenser? Seems many people have had the same problem…why not make the part available?

First time using one of these, so far we like it. Simple install, no complaints.

Loved the faucet set, and went for the soap dispenser even though we were not sure it would hold up. It pumps soap fine, but the black plastic part inside the handle simply broke off.

I have had this for quite a few years, without any trouble. And have enjoyed the convenience, yesterday, I noticed it was sitting funny, since I just filled the bottle. But, I have searched, and to replace the top, I would have to buy a brand new one. Why, is the top, not available to buy, by itself, considering the rest is in good condition. I have learned how to fill, without overflowing it.

We installed the Single Lever Pilar Touch Faucet in a kitchen remodel a number of years ago and are so pleased with it. The coordinating pump worked for about a year before the bottle neck actually broke off and is not replacable. The intent of having a clearer counter space with this feature is defeated and paying for the entire fixture to replace a plastic bottle is not reasonable.

This soap dispenser lasted 11 years but quit pumping. I could press it down but it would not pop back up. This YouTube video is very detailed and has my dispenser back in business.

Loved the look, but the customer did not want to go under the kitchen sink cabinet and behind a 10 inch deep sink to refill the bottle with soap.

I purchased a ToucH20 set and this dispenser in August 2020. ToucH20 is fine, the dispenser worked normally until Winter 2023, when it developed some kind of split around the siphon. Now, soap accumulates around the base, every time I press down. I don’t know expected lifetime for this product, but 2.5 years seems a bit short.

We installed the Delta faucet set that includes this soap dispenser during a kitchen remodel years ago. The soap bottle itself failed after a few years and I have not been able to find a replacement bottle. The dispenser is useless without a bottle and there does not seem to be a replacement available. The bottle size seems to be unique as non-Delta bottle do not fit.

The delta touch faucet is very nice, but the soap dispenser is poorly designed and poor construction at the point of movement and leverage. After purchasing with the faucet 2 1/2 years ago, the faucet has performed to expectations. Using this dispenser moderately for a year – the plastic that holds the top piece in place broke. I ordered a replacement RP50781AR, and warned household members to be cautious of the poor design and press only on the large round portion of the part. Despite this knowledge and user caution, the second soap dispenser has failed at the same point as the first after about a year. If this designed to be used to dispense soap and not merely as an ornamental appendage to the faucet, the soap dispenser should be designed to take this pressure on its head as its the only moving part. Purchasing replacement RP50781AR at $55 plus shipping once a year quickly makes this part more expensive than the faucet through the expected useful life.
Is there a remedy to this design or a better constructed alternative that matches?
