   Doesn’t seal and drain water out every. Single. Time! I thought by spending alot more money on a brand name that used to be good, I’d be getting a quality product but I didn’t. The cheap brand is sealing way better then this piece of crap!

   This will be the third time I am replacing this strainer since original mid 2019 purchase. The disk on the underside of the basket that connects to the plunger arm/knob keeps coming apart form the arm and unscrewing. This piece is fixed to the arm when I receive it, but after a few months of use ultimately comes loose and unscrews with use. Seems like the soldering is poorly done or can’t uphold to the conditions it is used in. Once this happens, it then is difficult to position the plunger properly so that it can open/close the drain. I don’t know what the design or craftsmanship flaw is, but it’s extremely annoying. I have explained the issue each time I call Kohler to have it replaced, however noone can explain or offer any different item. Because it is fitted to the sink, it’s the only option. Am I stuck reordering this strainer basket every few months for life??

   Though virtually identical to an old strainer that has finally fallen apart, it doesn’t seat tightly enough to stop water from draining – despite the rubber o-ring that you’d think would make a good seal. I don’t get it! I compared it in every way to my very old and reliable Kohler drain strainer. The only difference is that the old one had no o-ring. It sealed effectively with just metal to metal contact!! Why doesn’t rubber of the same diameter and reach not make a tight seal???__________

   Whatever the reason, though solidly built and attractively designed, it’s an epic fail in my kitchen sink. It gets 2 stars for those two good attributes, but loses 3 stars for not making a watertight seal.

   Our contractor installed this when the one we ordered that matched our sink was back ordered. He thought he was doing us a favor by giving us a “better” product.

   WRONG.

   I cannot wash any dishes in my sink because this strainer does not seal. Water drains out nearly every single time.

   I am so disappointed.

   I ordered the black strainer but you sent me the silver strainer, my sink is black therefore it looks funny
