My husband and I just purchased our first home. We decided to go through with a complete remodel of the kitchen and make it fully our taste instead of buying the same cookie cutter kitchens. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and aside from appliances needing to be high end and high quality, I wanted a sink that would hold up to its name for durable.
I had this sink in mind after looking online for MONTHS. I searched every store, touched so many different sinks and materials and yet somehow, I still wanted this particular sink.
A lot of reviews claimed it was shipped and delivered broken – which makes sense it could happen. But that doesn’t have anything to do with the worksmanship and quality of this sink. It’s GORGEOUS!!! I am extremely happy with my sink everyone who asks about sinks and sink types, I’ll defintely recommend this one!

This model was not my first choice. When the one I originally ordered didn’t arrive on the delivery date. I was informed that it was backordered by a week. When that week passed, I received another notification that it would be back ordered for more than an additional month. I was not thrilled with the stainless steel saddle, because it would take two specialty cleaners and extra steps for maintenance. When this unit was left on my doorstep by UPS I was interested to see how well packaged it was, since I’d read a couple of reviews with complaints of the sink being broken in transit. Mine was packed in so much rigid cardboard and closed cell foam that the only thing that could have protected it better was to use a Pelican case instead of a cardboard box. The sink came out of the box perfectly and the install was easy. The holes that are partially cut for multi hole applications can be drilled out with carbide hole cutters, but you’ll need one for each hole. I switched to a roto zip with a 1/4″ diamond tile cutter and it zipped right through with no surface chipping but some dust. Once all the plumbing was in place, it beat stainless sink it replaced hands down. When perfectly leveled the sink guides everything to the drains leaving the bottom almost completely dry. The sink sounds as solid as the countertop. The stainless saddle is actually one of nice because I can balance a large stainless stock pot between it and the sink lip, instead of placing it in the basin to fill. So far I’m very impressed. That last Star will need to be earned with long term durability.

Our sink is 2 years old and I bought mats for the bottom to protect it , today I noticed a large chip in my sink beneath the mat on a side of the sink that has a drain rack over top so I am very dismayed and confused how it could be chipped especially if one side is seldom even used . I won’t buy this type of material again as I feel it now looks cheap and I am afraid it will chip again . Since I don’t use anything heavy or Shap enough to chip the sink I feel like I have to treat it extra delicately and it’s become very inconvenient.

I was very excited to find a double bowl, granite composite, black sink. It looks beautiful yet I overlooked quite a few specifications. The depth of this sink adds three inches for plumbing considerations. The sink drains that are included with this particular sink add another two. You will need to also consider the drains are not centered in the bowl and are offset toward the back of the bowl. If you are doing DIY updates and keeping the same plumbing footprint you will have heated debates with yourself and/or your partner. We had to forego the included sink drains and purchase different drains to accommodate our plumbing situation. Also, the picture on the site does not include the laser engraved logo along the stainless steel dividing the two bowls. I could have done without it. I do like the look of it but am especially mindful of placing glass and easily breakable items within the bowl because it is a granite composite hard surface vs a stainless steel sink.

I rated this a 2 only because this is an extremely modern and attractive sink for the price. Sadly, that is all this beauty has going for itself – at least based on my personal situation.
Installation was complicated and not well documented. There was no real indication of how to use the mounting clips other than an image or two in the tiny folded booklet. The drain assembly was the same. It was difficult to identify the order in which the drain pieces and washers were to be installed- and again only came with cryptic and tiny fold out install booklets. There was no information about how to install a garbage disposal.
The single mount faucet came loose within a week. Upon calling customer support, i was told that it needs to be toghtened, then backed off by a quarter turn and tightened again. I was told that step was outlijed in the install guide. Nope!
Finally, just under 2 months of use, the sink has developed several surface cracks and is going to have to be removed and replaced. I’ll be contacting the warranty department to initiate that and will hopefully get a replacement product with fully realized install documentation.
I install sinks, toilets, drains and other similar items daily as I own my own handyman business. So i consider myself well qualified and skilled to tackle this project. But if you aren’t as familiar or comfortable doing this type of work, steer clear and hire a pro.
Will keep mine but will certainly share my struggles with the install when asked by others.

I bought this sink on line, as I needed one that was not as deep as most sinks. The 17” depth of this fit the bill. It looked like most other sinks on line. However, they entered its specs when I ordered my granite, and I was shocked when they installed this perported UNDERMOUNT sink yesterday, as the hole in my granite showed (revealed) two odd steps down on the back and front of the sink, but not the sides. Both the installers and I thought the hole had been cut too large, as this looked terrible. It turned out the fabricator for my granite “cut the hole in the granite to the manufacture’s specifications” for this sink. It seems Kraus “recommends” a reveal undermount (the edges show) whether you want it or not. THIS LOOKS TERRIBLE! It is the oddest design I’ve seen. This is the first new kitchen granite I’ve had, and at my age will be the last. I was so thrilled to get a modern, undermount, negative reveal sink in that granite!!! Nope, not with this Kraus sink. I AM VERY SAD AND HOPE YOU DON’T END UP THIS WAY, TOO. This sink CANNOT BE UNDERMOUNTED in the traditional use of that word. Look for something else to undermount.

They do what the manufacturer wants, not the customer. As for this sink – keep looking, in my humble opinion. This is a very bad design.

We purchased this sink from Amazon about two months ago. We received it two days later but the right back corner was cracked and detached from the sink. I called Kraus directly on Wednesday morning and spoke to Tony. After emailing him photos of the damage along with a copy of my invoice he said he’d place the order for a replacement which he assured me would go out the same day. Later the same day I received an email with tracking information for the replacement sink. On Friday, just two days later I received a second broken sink. This time it was the left back corner. At this point we were concerned, thinking Kraus would lose patience and somehow make their problem our problem as many of today’s companies do.
I emailed Tony with pictures of the damage and followed up with a phone call sharing my observations regarding the packing and shipping. In both instances of receiving damaged product the packing materials had shifted in the box leaving the larger back of the sink where the faucet is installed vulnerable to the exact damage we were seeing. Tony assured me they would open the box and inspect the packaging before shipping a third sink. At this point we were losing faith but Tony was ‘All in’, understanding that we really had our sights set on having this sink. On the following Monday I received an email from Tony with tracking information and his assurance that the product was inspected prior to shipping. On Wednesday the third sink arrived. The packing tape across the top of the box had come Lioose and my hopes of receiving an acceptable product was diminishing. After opening the packaging I first noticed the sink was whole, no broken corners. I then got a shop light and started inspecting for minor cracks of which there were none. The third sink arrived in perfect condition!
Originally we planned to have the sink professionally installed but with the delay we now had scheduling conflicts with the installer so I decided to do the installation myself. While the clips that secure it to the underside of the countertop (this was installed as a top mount) were a bit tricky we did get at least one on all four sides. The installation, including our existing R.O.filter, a net Delta ‘Touch 2O faucet took about 3-4 hrs. We did get tripped up a bit as we had to get creative with the new placement of the drains but in hindsight, successful science projects are a lot of fun!
Bottom line….We love this sink!!!! In reading reviews we’ve noticed several people talk about ‘Hard Water’ spots and whiteness. Our water is by no means soft, by the same token, it’s not West Texas hard either. A good example of our water is, DO NOT wash your car in the heat os the day…. It will leave spots regardless of how quickly you work to wipe it dry. Having said that, after a month or so, we’ve found NO WATER SPOTS in the sink.
Bottom line 2.0…… Customer service…. Kraus earns TEN STARS! They absolutely earned our business and recommendations. So many companies today operate with an unfortunate motto of “We don’t care and it shows”. Not the case with Kraus. They absolutely care and will definitely earn your business given the chance! Their customer service is absolutely outstanding!!!

I can’t speak to durability since I just installed this sink today. I had originally used the American Standard sink kit that came with a faucet, soap dispenser, and sprayer. It fell way short of my expectations. The faucet leaked from day one, and the components were cheaply made.
I pulled that sink and installed this Kraus sink. It looks really nice compared to the prior stainless sink that scratched easily. Of course this sink required that I purchase a faucet separately. I went with a high end pull out faucet that much better suits my needs of washing large pots and pans.
My only complaint is the installation instructions are pretty weak. Not much explanation, just a few drawings that were hard to reconcile with the actual parts. Maybe the manufacturer just assumes installation will be done by a professional plumber who doesn’t need any help.
I’m not a plumber, but a fairly capable DIY type. I built the countertops, and completed all plumbing myself with the help of YouTube & trial and error so it can be done by a relative novice.
The drain baskets are high quality and so much sturdier than the ones I had in the previous sink. I’m curious if the onyx color will show water spots? I have really soft water so I’m hoping it won’t be an issue.

I have already purchased 2 of these sinks, they have both arrived cracked. The crappy part is that we have our granite counter top was cut specifically to under mount this sink so if we ever do get a sink to arrive that ins’t cracked they have to install it under the counter top and so when it does finally break again there will be no way to replace the sink without taking up the granite counter top which the installers have informed me that they don’t do because it breaks the counter top, so essentially by picking this sink we have been totally screwed and will probably be out thousands of dollars.

We decided to switch our sink (old as in more than a decade and a half old). This has extra deep basins with offset drain holes which is brilliant as it prevent the water from getting trapped when you put a dish in the bowl. I installed this myself and must say this was pretty easy to install. This is built pretty well (and is heavy so make sure you know what you are doing before you lower this into your counter top).
Good: Includes two traps with all the seals, a microfiber cloth and came packaged adequately in a sturdy box.
The sink shipment was delayed by more than a week and I received it more than a week beyond the estimated date I got during checkout. But that was alright with me as I was in no hurry.
Suggestions:
1. If you are installing a new faucet with the sink, make sure you install the faucet first before you lower the sink into your counter top.
2. After you install the faucet onto the sink, use both the drain holes to hold and lift this sink up and place into the openings in your counter top. Also make sure you put caulking onto the underside of the sink before you lift the sink for placement.
3. Make sure you use the included seals (gaskets) properly with the drains. This is a plumber’s putty free design, so do not use putty with these. The stainless tell drain and the light colored gasket goes on the top and the plastic housing with black gasket goes underneath. Just hand tighten and do not over toque it.
4. When you start tightening the hold downs that clamp onto the underside of your counter top, make sure you use a good long screw driver (I used a 16 inches Phillips head screw driver).
5. Also if your counter top is not thick enough and the clamps on the sink are bottoming out before they grip the counter top, just use small wood shims to supplement the thickness (think of using blocks similar to Jenga blocks if you will). Also start the screws but not all the way before you drop your sink, if that is not possible, make sure you have a work light, head lamp with you as that will help you finish the task without killing your back and dropping profanities that might shock your family.
6. Once the sink is in place and the hold downs are tightened, clean up your caulking before it dries. I used a clear caulking which goes on white and cures clear.
All in all this was a good purchase and the wife is impressed to say the least.

Nice sink but make sure you get strainers that account for the thickness of this sink.

Absolutely love the quality of this sink! The larger sink bowl Is quite large and super roomy for frying pans and big pieces. The smaller size sink is excellent for flatware. It is super easy to clean. Best buy for the money, quality and ease of installation. Very pleased with purchase.

At this point in time I’m on my second sink and waiting on the third as they continue to show up cracked.
I read many reviews prior to purchase and this issue was noted many times but it’s a unique size and fit my needs perfectly so I went ahead with it.
I picked up the first one at the store. I opened it and inspected prior to leaving and sure enough there were the cracks. was very accommodating allowing me to take that sink and order another as I needed it for countertop template in two days.
The second one showed up at the house and again cracked in the exact same spots.
Again was helpful, took that one back, gave me credit and ordered a third which should be delivered any day. Fingers crossed as the quartz countertops are in and cut for “that ” sink.
I’m VERY hopeful the third will be good as I do like the sink and have been using the first and have been happy with the exception of the cracks.
I would have to agree with other reviewers on that I believe the cracking is happening before they leave production since they’re cracked in the exact saame place and the packaging show absolutely no sign of abuse and the sinks are we’ll packed.
I must also mention that Kraus was accommodating also allowing me to install the original and use it until I receive a good one otherwise I’d have no kitchen sink.
