I’ve never had cast iron before, nor a Dutch oven. This was the perfect way to get both in one piece. Upon arrival and opening the item, I knew this was going to be a top notch item. The way the Dutch oven was wrapped and boxed up kept it protected so very well. I think I counted three total boxes that it was in. No way was anything going to knock or ding this thing in transit.
Taking it out of the box, holy cow, very heavy. About 22ish pounds. This is a serious piece of cooking equipment and will last for many many years to come.
I washed it and started cooking chili in it as my first dish. I know that cast iron needs to be seasoned, but this one is already pre seasoned so it was wonderful to be able to just use it straight away.
I love that you can cook on the stove top, and put it in the oven, up to 500°. My next item I want to make is a homemade bread and I cannot wait. Love this Dutch oven so much. Cleaning it was super simple too.

I was so excited when you new Rachael Ray – RUST-RESISTANT™ Cast Iron Skillet showed up at my door! It was packaged so well and has zore signs of damage. I took out the pan and cleaned it quickly so I could get started using it. I had already been thinking about what I was going to make in it first. My first use of it was to make pan seared Waygu ribeye steaks! It heated up so nice and evenly! The steaks didn’t stick and were able to move about the interior of the pan, I lived how I was able to move the pan from the stove to the oven after getting a good sear on the meat to finish cooking. After dinner was done it just took a light wash and thorough dry, and it was looking like new again! I think next will be bananas Foster French toast!

We moved a couple years ago and the color scheme of the kitchen has changed. We had the Rachael Ray stainless steel pots and pans, nonstick bakeware and the ceramic pots and pans etc. for over 10 years. Everything still looks new and performs great. However as I stated the color scheme changed so I bought all new Rachael Ray cookware to replace and match our new color scheme. My wife is a big fan or Rachael Ray and her products.

The Rachael Ray cast iron dutch oven is great. I like how my food doesn’t stick because it’s pre- seasoned already and that I don’t have to worry about it rusting so easily. This Dutch Oven cooks nicely and evenly in my oven. I’m glad that you can use all kinds of utensils as my kids like to use whatever they have available and don’t remember some products scratch easily. This cast iron is very easy to clean and take care of. Keeps my food nice and warm for a good amount of time when needed. After time if needed its very easy to re- season your cast iron and also tells you how to do this specifically. I love cooking my chicken and stews in this dutch oven, very nicely made and a good value to last a long time. Can use in oven and stove top so multi usage and can withstand high temperatures. Very satisfied with the rachael ray cast iron dutch oven.

The cast iron skillet is very attractive and it matches my other Rachael Ray cookware. I have never used cast iron before so I thought I’d give it a try. First of all, it is heavy. I have arthritis in my hands so I have to be very careful lifting it. Second, I thought I prepared the pan properly before simmering chicken breasts in it. I carefully wiped the skillet out and gently, lightly washed it. I expected it to look unused as it looked when I bought it. No, there is a dirty looking film on it. I don’t want to use it again because of the way it looks, but I don’t know what to do. Do I try to re-season it, do I try to wash it again so it is clean? I feel like I just wasted my money on this cast iron skillet that I was so excited to get. HELP!

I got this a few weeks ago. Let me start off by saying it has a great size! It’s so big which is great for us a family of 6 just the size we needed. You can make meals ahead of this and pop it in the oven, make bread, stews, everything can be cooked in this pot. It’s made from cast iron which holds in the heat and we found that it induces heat higher too way better than any other pot I have owned. It’s coated in enamel seamlessly. No chipping, discoloring or rust all all and we have used it hard the past few weeks because we have loved it so much. It has a unique underside of the lid that has drip points for catching steam it’s an all around great pot. It’s a little on the heavy side you just have to use a muscle. It’s seems very durable and I’m sure this will continue to be a great cast iron to keep in our family for many years to come! Overall we are extremely happy with this purchase!

The difference between good enameled cast iron and bad is the quality of the enamel work, whether it is sufficiently layered to withstand heat while still heating evenly. This enameled cast iron pot does the job well. We have used it as a searer, a casserole maker (with oven action), and a chili maker over the past two weeks, and the pot handles all those functions with grace. The interior black is evenly coated, and though it is less sticky, adding a bit of oil keeps the interior nonstick. There were no issues with cleaning or use in the oven at 350F for an hour. This is solid and heavy for consistent high temperature cooking. The outer teal enamel has already scorched, but that is to be expected with a high BTU gas range. The handles are large enough for potholders to safely get around and grip. This is definitely the best Dutch Oven on the market ! You can’t get anything better than this ! An excellent staple in any home ! Exceeded my expectations by far! Would recommend to anyone out there !
