This dispenser works as advertised and it’s great. But, past experience with other type dispensers has shown in the long term they will begin to drip and clog so we’ll see. Also, it works very well with dish soap with the higher viscosity but not so well with the more watery soap like the sample that came with it as it splatters some what.

I find it difficult to place hand correctly to get the smallest amount of soap. This is a waste of soap and will cost a lot of money in soap refills.
I prefer the older models where you could adjust the amount of soap you like/need.
I do love the recharge! Savings on batteries.

I got dishwasher pump first and it worked well, since I like the design so much so I ordered another liquid soap pump. However this one has a battery problem that I almost had to charge every week, I have only charged the dishwasher pump once but for this liquid hand soap pump, I have charged numerous times! So I wonder its battery may have been bad!

For years we’ve used a pump soap dispenser. It’s worked fine but this takes dish washing to the next level. It’s convenient and easy to use: just place the sponge under the spout and the soap comes right out, no awkward two handed fumbling with soapy hands. The low profile look is nice. I just hope it lasts a good long time. The only downside is that the soap comes out when I reach to move the dispenser or clean up around it. It will take me some time to remember that I need to reach for it from behind so as not to activate the sensor.

This dispenser gives you too much soap, no matter which distance you use. The only way I have to limit. The amount of soap is to take an actually place my hand sponge directly on the discharge spout. I really wish that it did have a way to limit the amount of soap dispensed, in addition to the distance feature.

The sensor pump is replacing an aged hand pump dispenser. It’s taking some time getting used to the sensitivity of the sensor pump. I go to move it and oops soap comes out. It would be great if there was an adjustment I could make on the sensitivity of the dispenser. Otherwise I have made adjustments, like placing the dispenser in another area on my sink where I need to think about my intentions to dispense soap. I also turn the dispenser “off” when I am going to clean my counter. When I’m cooking, the dispenser is convenient and works to my expectations which was to quickly have soap in my hands and not touch a dispenser. Simple human makes quality items to make life easier. This is another product that has made me a continued fan of their products.

I’ve been using the rechargeable foam soap dispenser for the last several years. This unit has been flawless. Our liquid soap dispenser from Simplehuman in the kitchen had finally given out after nearly 9 years of service. We like the rechargeable aspects of the foam dispenser and decided to go for the rechargeable liquid soap dispenser. So far, so good and with the unique colors available – what’s not to like.

Let’s start with the obvious–it ain’t cheap. Frankly, it’s pricey soap dispenser. BUT does your dollar store soap pump have the aesthetics, function, and reliability? Trust me, it doesn’t. I’ve been through a few cheapy pumps. This, my friends, is a piece of art. It is sturdy. It has a timeless design. The color options matches every modern finish. The charge lasts very long. It’s been about 3 months on a charge and still going strong. Granted, there are only 2 adults in the home. When the kids are back for the summer, I suspect the charge may not last as long. First I bought the black for the bathroom. A few months later, I returned for the gold finish for the kitchen. So, clearly I am sold on the product. We get compliments on it. My only major “gripe” is that it dispenses a lot of soap at a time. It’s also sensitive so at first we kept triggering the release of soap while doing simple things like drying off the countertop. Now, we’ve figured out how close to get before it senses our hands. For me, it is worth the cost. I’ll cut back somewhere else…just not here.

I am disappointed in the new rechargeable model I just purchased. I don’t like that it does not have the adjustable flow rate buttons as I really see much difference in the flow dependent upon where I put my hand. I also don’t like that I can’t see how much soap is in the container due to no viewing window. I like that it is rechargeable as I am constantly washing my hands in the kitchen. I just found out that the battery is not replaceable in the future. What? I have to buy a new unit because the rechargeable battery died? That’s nuts…what an unnecessary waste of material going into our landfills. This is terrible!

I’m not all that impressed with this product. It leaks & is very sensor sensitive. I find I have to fill up more often & not easy to refill. I also don’t like the way the amount of soap if dispensed. Doesn’t seem to be much difference in the adjustment. I have bought other Simplehuman soap dispensers that were less expensive that I liked much better & lasted a long time. For the price that I paid it does not meet my expectations!

I’m a long-time Simplehuman fan, and since the onset of Covid I’ve had numerous auto-soap dispensers in both kitchen and bath. They use a lot of batteries… So I purchased this version to determine how well it works, how long on a charge, easy to fill, easy to maintain, etc. – all those functional aspects of such a device that impacts your life! Only had a few days now, but am optimistic this is the answer to my expectations. So far, so good…

By far this is the best rechargeable liquid sensor pump that SIMPLEHUMAN has ever made! I should know as I’ve purchased every iteration of rechargeable sensor pumps previously on the market and am writing this review because where all the old pumps fail over time this one has not. I purposefully waited about a year since buying it to write this review because some previous pumps did not even last that long before they crapped out on me. The problem almost always happens when I refill liquid soap into the pump and the spout stops working and/or the sensor features stop functioning correctly over time. I’ve also experienced problems when trying to rinse off soap residue from previous pumps to keep them clean, the water always got into the recharger slot area and then I’d have to dry that out to avoid damage and before plugging in the cable to recharge. This new rechargeable liquid pump has a very cool, convenient, easy to use magnetic connection between pump and charger cable such that the head of the charger cable at point of contact just snaps right into place in the obvious external location without any complications. It’s very easy to simply wipe (not rinse) to keep this latest greatest pump clean, the stainless steel body looks and feels much more durable and higher quality of construction than previous models of sensor pumps. Overall, simply put, this sensor pump works better than all the rest and is far easier to use and keep clean with continued uses between refills.

My wife and I have used simplehuman electronic soap dispensers now for around twenty years, always using nothing but rechargeable batteries, by the way, and we’ve always enjoyed them. This latest sensor pump is, we think, the best version yet!
The new design is quite sleek, attractive, and functional. The built-in rechargeable battery eliminates the need to change rechargeable batteries along with the need for any type of removable closure to gain access to a battery compartment. The top closure simply lifts off for soap refilling and presses securely back into place once refilling is complete—no more screw-on caps or curvaceous, sometimes hard to handle, press-on caps. The built-in funnel underneath the top closure is a big help during refilling. The new rotating arms which move quietly inside the unit to depress and release a tube to draw soap up and out of the dispenser’s nozzle works quite well, dispensing neat little droplets of soap. And the sensor is now not only a motion sensor, but also a proximity sensor so one can adjust the amount of soap needed to clean ones hands on demand, rather than having to preset a flow amount—that’s another adjustment knob/setting users don’t have to worry about!
This item represents a truly excellent design upgrade, so why not five stars? The power button on the soap dispenser doesn’t always turn on or off with a single depression. A power button ought to work with just one press without having to press in just the right place to get it to work, and that part of the design needs some attention.
Also, although I assume that the USB power cord that ships with the unit for recharging will work with either a phone, tablet, or other small device charging block, there’s nothing, at least when I last checked, in the online FAQs nor in my copy of the instruction manual that shipped with our units (we bought three) which provides any guidance about the use of the cord. It would be nice to have that direction.
Lastly, I’d love it if simplehuman would rewrite their manual for this item to include not only charging cord info, but also add the online FAQs to the manual, as well. Getting all the information we need to use, maintain, and troubleshoot our new items from the moment we unpack them would be deeply appreciated.
My wife and I would still like to recommend this truly excellent product to all who would like to have a great-looking, electronic, touchless soap dispenser—we’re certainly glad we have ours!

I am going to have to change my habits and position the pump so that it does not dispense soap when I don’t intend to have it do so. This happens whenever my hand passes before the sensor, which is how it supposed to work. When I purchased, I didn’t realize how many times my hand crosses the area of my soap dispenser. For the problem I have using a non sensor pump I am willing to make the change required. I dislike coloring the pump with paint and make-up and this pump will eliminate that problem. It helps that I can turn it off when not anticipating that I will be using it for frequent hand washing.

I have now had three of these units plus one of the 8 oz pump. The advantage of the 9 oz is that the batteries are rechargeable. The advantage of the 8 oz is that you COULD swap batteries. Disadvantage of the 9 oz is that when the rechargeable battery no longer holds a charge, you CANNOT swap out for another rechargeable battery. In addition, unlike the 9 oz, where you could see how much soap was left and determine when to fill it, the 9 oz lets you know when it no longer is pumping soap.

If I just pass my hand near the dispenser soap comes out, making a mess all around it. I have to turn off the dispenser between uses, which defeats the idea of just being able to get the soap on a sponge as needed without pumping or turning the device on.

I bought 3 of these and if they all worked the same it would be perfect. There is one that works exactly as the description states. The problem is that the other 2 will dispense the largest amount no matter where you put your hand. I tried all the trouble shooting to no avail. Great concept but the accuracy is not there, I kind of wish I just had one setting instead of having the multiple settings. It would be even better if you could turn off the other settings too

You just can’t go wrong with the liquid soap pumps, as they last forever! I previously purchased the foam type, but 2 of the 3 I bought had to be replaced when they quit dispensing. There have been zero problems with the liquid soap pumps I bought 2 years ago, so now I have 3!

My husband really wanted this thing and I thought it was kinda extra. Do we really need a sensor pump? Have we really reached the level of lazy where we can’t pump our own soap? Well, the answer is yes. I caved and now I’m buying one for every bathroom! It’s sooooo nice! Not to mention the ability to choose how much soap you need based on where you place your hand! Brilliant! This is worth every single penny.

The motor on this is too weak to expel a decent amount of hand soap. I don’t know if it’s defective or just not strong enough. I’m using simplehuman hand soap so it should work better. I am still using a hand sensor pump from two years ago and this new one is much lighter and cheaply made than the original. I definitely won’t order any more of these.

Wow, this is the first “sensor” ANYTHING I have found that actually works right. It’s 2023, not 1993. If you have ever tried to use a public bathroom with faucet sensors, you know what I am talking about. They NEVER work!!
This soap pump, however, works!!! And the dosage solution they came up with is absolute genius. The lower you put your hand on the pump, the more soap you get. The higher you go, the less it gets. So simple and easy. Worth every single penny I paid.

Even with your hand near the top of the dispenser spout, a large amount of soap comes out. This would use up the soap faster than the previous version.
I wish it had a clear space on the unit to show where the soap level is like previous versions.
That said, the dispenser is very sleek and modern. There is no delay in dispensing the soap. My older model got clogged up and even after taking it apart and cleaning it, it still would not dispense correctly.
I like the idea of no batteries and am hoping that the 3 month charge claim is correct. 🙂

Last year I purchased the one with the recharge feature vs the battery operated one for my dad, who has arthritis, and he loves it. Just upgraded mine to the same one and not only do I like not having to change the batteries, but I really like the modern shape. It also has a nice rubber bottom that keeps the dispenser in place, unlike the previous, battery operated version.

I love the rechargeable sensor pump. I own battery operated simplehuman pumps and they’re great, but I don’t like changing batteries because it’s a messy process (turning it upside down, getting soap everywhere, etc.). The rechargeable option solves that problem. Here are the only things that could be improved with this unit (none that are unbearable…this is still a great pump):
* there’s no soap level indicator. The unit is solid and no see through levels, so you’re always guessing when you need to refill.
* there’s no “battery low” warning. When it’s done, it’s done and you have to use manual pumps when charger wears out…but it’s not often because it lasts a long time.
* the amount/volume dispense method doesn’t work great, but it’s an awesome idea. When using a bottle brush or sponge (for dish soap), the sensor doesn’t work when the brush/sponge is far away (for a lot of soap), and it requires multiple short-shot dispenses.
